PEACH:  Special Focus Meeting

September 25th @ 7:00pm

THE ROAD TO COLLEGE

A College Admission Guidance Program

Sheri Heasley, a certified college counselor will be presenting this program, primarily to parents of high schoolers grades 9th-11th , however all are welcome to attend.

As Ms. Heasley began doing the college search with her oldest, she realized how different it had become since she went through the process!  Last year she met with over 25 different college admission’s counselors to hear what they are looking for in students. The process can be very stressful, and it is her goal to ease that stress and allow the student and the parent to enjoy it and allow God to open and close doors as He reveals where He wants your student to be!

She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of N. Florida. and a  college counseling certificate from UCLA.

Her presentation will touch on the following areas:

  • Address the many resources available on the web to help them in their college search.
  • Provide information on financial aid and scholarship resources. (only those that are FREE!)
  • Go over the common application and go over the essay writing process.
  • Discuss the many aspects of the actual admissions process.
  • SAT or ACT, what is best for you….a few tips for taking these tests
  • Address what colleges are looking for in resume’ preparation.
  • Provide general information for the athlete or fine arts student that might be recruited.
