PEACH
Field Trip Policies and Practices
Eligibility
to Participate in PEACH Field Trips
Must
be a PEACH member. Payment is due by the deadline indicated
in the newsletter. All checks should be made out to PEACH, and the
event name should be in the memo line. PEACH will have to abide
by the rules of the field trip host facility with regard to cancellations.
In the event that a field trip is free, $5 per family will be collected
to hold your spot. The $5 will be returned at the event. For no-shows
the $5 will be considered a donation to the PEACH general fund.
Behavior
Our
behavior reflects on homeschoolers as a whole - either negatively
or positively. Please instruct your children regarding appropriate
behavior. We want to make and leave a positive impression. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Dress
Code
Please
dress neatly and appropriately when attending a field trip. Once
again, we want to make and leave a positive impression.
Timeliness
Please
arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start of the event (unless
earlier time is requested by the Field Trip Leader, FTL). The time
is a great fellowship opportunity with others. Events will start
punctually, so please don't miss out or get left behind.
Age
Appropriateness
Welcomed
ages are usually set by the FTL and the host facility, not by PEACH.
At times, field trips are tailored for the interest of an age group.
Either way, the age ranges are set for a reason; please respect
their wishes.
Pictures
Naturally,
we encourage picture-taking. Just as naturally, we follow the venue's
guidelines. If they request no pictures, please respect that.
Thank
You Notes
To
show your appreciation and good manners, consider sending a thank
you note to the business or establishment that hosts the field trip.
Better yet, when appropriate, let your child write it (It could
be part of your school). And, of course, don't forget to thank your PEACH FTL. We are all volunteers. Check your email the day before
a scheduled field trip, and maybe even the morning of the field
trip, in the event of an unexpected change that alters plans.
